Belgian aircraft manufacturer JMB Aviation brought their VM3 demonstration aircraft to Watts Bridge for presentation and trial flights. In their own words the VM3 is “the world’s fastest U/L” and judging by the fly-pasts there is little doubt about this claim.  It looks fast just sitting on the ground. Several pilots took the opportunity to experience a trial flight and all seemed duly impressed. Powered by a Rotax 915 the Max Cruise Speed is quoted as 370km/h TAS. The aircraft is constructed of carbon and kevlar fibre and features a retractable undercarriage and variable pitch propeller.
