Brisbane Airshow Photo Gallery
After several false starts, (due to COVID, poor weather and all), the Brisbane Airshow was finally held on the 10-11 July 2022. And what a weekend it was. Planes and people everywhere at Watts Bridge! The field was rather soft underfoot due to rain the previous week, though no one seemed to mind. The numbers were intentionally capped at (only) 11,000 visitors per day. Not that you would have known.
There were no limits on the flight line however! A wide variety of old and new aircraft went through their paces with great shows of precision handling displays and breath-taking aerobatics accompanied by lots of smoke and aeroplane-noise. Away from airside, there were the trade exhibits offering everything from T-shirts to flight planning software, joy flights to club membership. After hours the VIP tent and accompanying refreshment area made a brisk trade, as had the food court all day.
All in all the Brisbane Airshow was a great success for the organizers, the airfield, and most importantly the general public who got to experience first-hand, unique aircraft flown by amazingly skilled pilots. We can all look forward to future aviation events to be held at Watts Bridge!!
