Each year, on the 25th April,  we gather at the memorial cairn to honour and remember all Australian servicemen and women. The Remembrance Service includes Bible readings, speeches and the laying of floral wreaths.  For 2023 the guest speaker was Wing Commander Gregg Choma from the RAAF Base Amberley. Following the laying of wreaths, Flight Lieutenant  Katherine Handley recited an incredibly touching poem. At the conclusion of the service, a Mustang P-51D performed an impressive commemorative pass across the airfield.

Approximately 50 people,  many from the local community including SRC Mayor Leymann and his wife, attended the 2023 ANZAC Day service. A traditional Australian morning tea / light lunch was served in the QWVAA clubrooms to conclude the remembrance. Later in the afternoon, a small gathering took part in the traditional Australian game of “Two Up”.
